They secrete seminal fluid that helps the sperm to move easily. Prostate gland is a bilobed structure which surrounds the urethra close to its origin from the bladder. It neutralizes the acid in the female vagina by pouring an alkaline secretion. Bulbo-urethral glands or Cowper's glands are small ovoid glands which open into the urethra just before it enters the penis. It's secretion serves as a lubricant.
