Situation - The situation of a settlement is its location in relation to surrounding human & physical features. We usually describe the situation when we are telling someone where a settlement is. Urban - The built up area any city with a population of 10000 people or more Rural - The countryside. Rural areas may be farmland, forest, desert or savanna, depending on where you are in the world, Rural areas do contain small settlements of less than 100000 people. Urbanisation- The increase in the proportion of a country’s problem living in urban areas compared to rural areas, towns & cities increasing the fundamentals. Shanty town (favela) - Is a settlement of impoverished people who live in improvised dwellings.
