もっとあつくなってからでないと海では泳げない。

= Unless it gets even warmer, we won’t be able to swim in the sea.

～てからでないと　・　～てからでなければ

Until/Unless (sth) happens, (sth else) cannot happen either (use negative at the end).

おふろに入っている間に、はいたつの人が来たようだ。

= While I was in the bath, the delivery person seemed to have come.

～あいだ　・　～あいだに

「間に」While/During (continuous state), a momentary action or change occurs.

わたしは夏休みの間、アメリカの友だちの家にいた。

= During the summer holidays, I was at my American friend’s house.

～あいだ

「間」While/During (continuous state), (another continuous state) is going on at the same time.

間もなく2時になるところです。

学校を休んであそんでいるところを友だちのお母さんに見られた。

今、出かけるじゅんびをしているところだから、ちょっと待って。

= Soon it is about become 2 o’clock.

= While not being at school and playing, we came across my friend’s mother.

= Because now I am about to prepare for going out, wait a little bit.

～ところだ　・　～ところを　・　～ところで　・　～ところへ

1.      Just before (sth) happens (だ)

2.      While (sth) is happening (を)

3.      Just after (sth) happened (で・へ)

*particle depends on verb that follows

わすれないうちに、聞いたことをメモしておいたほうがいい。

ほかのことに気をとられているうちにごはんを食べる時間がなくなってしまった。

= While you are not forgetting, it would be good if you took a note of what you heard.

= While paying attention to other things, time for eating is gone.

Do (intentional action) before state/situation changes.
